If you already have your passes, this article will help you figure out how to get there, where to stay and what else you might need to know about Coachella 2017.
Some of the hottest artists are scheduled to play this year, over two weekends. They include:
• The XX
• Travis Scott
• Lady Gaga
• Bon Iver
• Gucci Mane
• Kendrick Lamar
• New Order
• Porter Robinson
There are a number of other bands and artists playing this year, with over 100 musical artists making their way to the Coachella stage.
There will be over 100 vendors serving everything tasty and authentic and for every budget. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options are also available, so there will be something for everyone.
Outstanding in the Field is an experience like no other offered at Coachella. With family-style tables set up in the field, this farm to table event will offer you a 4-course meal and a welcoming cocktail, plus beer and wine pairings throughout the meal. Dinner passes are $225.
The Craft Beer Barn will serve some great microbrews and speciality cocktails with a huge variety of local and regional craft beers on the tap. Through the day, there will be limited releases, so coming back all weekend will be a treat, to see what’s on offer. As well, there are some great food vendors in the Craft Beer Barn, so you can eat while enjoying your cocktails.
Not only will the music and food delight you, the Coachella Music and Arts Festival features large scale, original art installations throughout the festival and campgrounds. Festival goers rave about these pieces long after the festival is over. It is the perfect way for up-and-coming artists to display their work and it sets this festival apart from other music festivals nation-wide.
Where to stay
If you are planning to stay all weekend or both weekends, you may need somewhere to stay. There are a number of options for camping, glamping and hotels with shuttles to the festival.
The campground is full of amenities including free showers, an internet cafe with free wi-fi, food and beverage vendors, a farmer’s market, mobile phone charging stations, portable toilets, and water refill stations. You can choose between car camping, where you park and set up your tent in a 10’x30’ spot. If you’d prefer a tent only spot, you have your choice of a 10’x15’ grass spot.
With a more upscale camping experience in mind, you’ll camp in Lake Eldorado’s 16’ tee pees or 12’x14’ safari-style tents, which are ready to go with two cots (tee pees) or four cots (tents), sleeping bags and pillows. You’ll also get free exclusive showers, flushable toilets, 24-hour concierge service, as well as vehicle in and out privileges. This exclusive spot is only available to those over 18.
Similar to the Lake Eldorado safari tents, everything is very private here and also includes backstage passes! You’ll also have air conditioning and private restrooms and showers. There is a secure fence line with dedicated security and quite a bit to do in this area.
There are a number of off-site campgrounds within a good distance of the festival with shuttles to and from the festival location and the campground. You could also stay at one of the hotels or resorts in the area and drive in to the festival each day. Parking is free from 9am until 2am and there is no overnight parking, unless you are camping. There is motorcycle parking and ADA parking as well. If you have a VIP festival pass, you can also get a VIP parking pass for all three days, while they last.
The Coachella Music and Arts Festival strives to be sustainable with a number of initiatives in place before, during and after the festival. Carpoolchella is an event that encourages drivers to carpool to the festival with a chance to win prizes. Energy Playground lets you play while using your own power to charge up your phone. The Recycling Store lets you recycle all of your bottles, cans and cups and you can win prizes for picking them up from the Coachella grounds. Recyclosaurus Rex will help you do it.
If you’ve already bought your passes (and you need to have), you can also now activate them. You need them activated before entering the festival.
The Coachella mobile app will help you find your way around the festival. Download it now to check out what’s on offer, including all the tasty places to eat! If you are an Amex card member, you’ll be able to access exclusive offers and rewards.
