Celebrating our nation’s birthday is always a big event in the Valley and residents and visitors can look forward to a number of fun events for Independence Day in the Coachella Valley. Celebrations start on the 3rd and head into the 4th as well.
Take in a free show
Starting off the events on July 3rd is a free concert at Agua Caliente Casino Resort & Spa. This red, white and blue celebration is going to play homage to all of your favorite boy bands like New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys and NSync. Seating is first-come, first-served.
Have a swim
What better way to celebrate our country’s day of birth than by a refreshing swim? The Palm Springs Swim Centre is having a huge pool party, where you can enjoy games, an inflatable slide, family-friendly music and then watch the fireworks right from the pool. Tickets are $6 or $5 if pre-purchased for adults and only $2 for kids.
Play some baseball
Head to Palm Springs Baseball Stadium at 6:05pm for a rousing game of baseball. Watch the Power take on the Inland Valley Bucs before the end of the night fireworks show.
Catch a concert
Start the night off at 7:15pm at the Palm Desert Civic Center Park with the national anthem, followed by some live music. There is a shuttle that runs all night from the Gardens on El Paseo or park around the park if that suits you better.
Check out the fireworks
On July 3rd, Fantasy Springs Resort Casino will hold a free fireworks show. Starting at 8:45pm on the Eagle Falls Golf Course, visitors can watch from the Pro Shop and parking lot. Head in early to grab a prime spot and so you can hear the live simulcast on The Eagle 106.9.
Who says one night of fireworks is enough? On the 4th, head to the Palm Springs Stadium to watch a patriotic show of fireworks, starting at 9:15pm. These fireworks are also free, with entrance to the show starting at 8pm. Bring your blankets and chairs and get yourself a good spot right on the field.
After the free concert at Palm Desert Civic Center Park, there will be a 25-minute firework show. The show will be accompanied by patriotic and contemporary music. Bring your blankets and chairs and a bit of cash to purchase snacks and drinks for the show.
Happy 4th everyone and keep safe!
