January Events in the Coachella Valley include major events, concerts and theater. While January seems to be the slowest of the months here there are a few notable events to mention. After a long month of socializing, shopping and being busy, it is no wonder January is a time to slow down. Besides one of the biggest golf tournaments in the area happening in January, there are just a few other events to mention.
Career Builder Challenge – January 18th to 22nd
This amazing golf tournament featuring the legendary Phil Mickelson happens only once a year. There are a number of ways you can participate, either as a spectator, player or volunteer. Don’t miss out on the fun, sun, music, cocktails, friends and of course – golf!
Tour de Palm Springs – January 20th and 21st – Downtown Palm Springs
Participate in this bike race at 10 miles, 25 miles, 50 miles or do the full 100 miles. This race is in its 19th year and features 25 bands and cheerleaders along the route, as well as many vendors. Get out there and cheer along the riders as they make their way through the desert on their bikes.
Palm Desert Panther 5K – January 22nd
Join in this 5K race to support Palm Desert Charter Middle School Foundation. There are unique, handmade medals for winners in all age groups and all participants get awarded. You can cheer on a racer or get out there running yourself, even if you’ve never walked more than 1k. A 5k is a great way to start a tradition of running races.
