Kaiser Grill in Palm Desert

Picture it: White linens, beautiful stemware, attentive waiters and a beautiful prime rib, delicious Ahi tuna poke and a decadent flourless chocolate cake. Sound good? You can get all of this and more at the Kaiser Grille in Palm Desert. more at the Kaiser Grille in Palm Desert.

This locally owned and operated gem, located at the corner of highway 111 and Portola, isn’t just another steakhouse. With the belief that you are what you eat, Kaiser Grille’s menu consists of organic and sustainable choices that are not only delicious, but healthy as well. Originally opened and founded in 1992 by Kaiser Morcus, his son Eric is now in charge and has recently done a remodel and menu revision to satisfy every taste and has become very popular with the locals.

You’ll definitely want to try the steak, made from natural and hormone-free USDA prime beef. There are a bounty of choices, including filet mignon, New York steak and hangar steak. Each is grilled just the way you want and you can add a surf and turf option of a 6oz lobster tail or two sustainable jumbo shrimp. You can’t say no.

All of the chicken is free range and organic and there are a few options for meats other than steak, including a large From the Sea section of the menu. The macadamia crusted Mahi Mahi is definitely a local favorite, served with lemongrass ginger steamed rice and stir fried baby bok choy, bell peppers, carrots with a coconut curry lemongrass sauce.

Of course, you won’t want to skimp on the sides, with all the produce coming from local sources and everything including the deserts, dressings and sauces is made in-house and fresh! Choose from a refreshing watermelon salad with feta cheese and balsamic vinaigrette or fresh roasted beets. The Mediterranean chop is also a great salad option as a starter or even a light meal.

Speaking of appetizers, you won’t want to miss out on the local Medjool dates, wrapped in applewood smoked bacon and stuffed with blue and jalapeno chile, with a balsamic drizzle on top. If that sounds too healthy for you, the fried calamari is always a sure-bet, with sweet thai chili and lime and ginger dipping sauces.

They have happy hour every night of the week and if you are in the mood for good prices on draft beer, house wine, well drinks and house margaritas and martinis, this is the spot to come. Their lounge favorites and sharing menu is stacked with items like:
• Citrus BBQ ribs
• All-natural grass-fed burger
• Grilled chicken skewers
• Potato skins
• Crab cakes
• Fish tacos

The summer sunset dinner is also a super deal at only $19.99 for three courses.
